Yeah, pretty much. Weeping AND wailing.  The Heresy books read like something between an 18th century opera and a high-medieval romance, what with all the highly-strung grown men and multi-paragraph descriptions of everything from armour to demanour to Garviel Loken's freckles and on one occasion even smell (thanks, Dan Abnett - the audience can't possibly live without olfactory knowledge of a character) ...I'm surprised no one's swooned out of a window to their death just yet.

*sighs*but yeah, there is a dire shortage of hugs in that universe. And to think, in all his thousands of years and lives, the Emperor never thought to take a parenting class...
